Ana Gonzales bio
Ana Gonzalez de Jorgenson comes from a musical family. She spent most of her early years listening to classical music and boleros of the past, traditional ranchero or romantic tunes, as well classic classical music. Ana is a fan of tangos and operas as well as other theatrical performances. Her mother taught her to sing, however she started intensive singing lessons with Flavio Belcerra, who was 16 at the time when he was a renowned Mexican opera tenor. She studied in Guadalajara at the School of Music of University of Guadalajara and then in Toluca at Toluca at the School of Sacred Music. While a student, and being a young professional within Mexico City and Guadalajara she sang with several chamber groups as well as choruses. In 2000 she moved to the United States and sang with the Fort Lauderdale Symphony Chorus. In 2007, she settled in her new home in Southern California. She has performed solo Latin American music for private functions and as a member Ensemble XXI in Redlands. In addition to being an active performer as well as an instructor the passion for arts and music keeps her involved in a range of projects. Ana is a previous member of Community Chorus of Redlands (as well being a member of the Inland Master Chorale) and Performance Loft. Ana is privileged to be able to share with others her passion for the traditional Latin American music. She hopes to encourage younger generations to preserve the traditions.
