Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson, both lawyers. When she was a kid she was enrolled in her school, the Dragon School in Oxfordshire. Emma was inspired to become an actor by the age of six. Through the years she was enrolled in the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts part-time school. In the school, she was taught singing as well as dancing, and also acting. As part of a school production and an Stagecoach show, she took the lead at the age 10 and performed. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the movie adaptation of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British book was cast in the year 1999. Emma was discovered by Emma's Oxford Theatre instructor. David Heyman announced to Emma that following eight auditions, she and Rupert Grint were chosen as Hermione and Harry Potter. Emma's film debut was made with the release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2002). The film broke records for beginning-day and weekend-opening sales as well as being the most-grossing feature of 2001. The film was praised by experts, and also by the performances of its three starlets. The highly distributed British publication The Daily Telegraph called her performance as admirable. Emma got five nominations in recognition of her exceptional performance. Then, she was awarded the Young Artist Award in Leading Young Actress of a Film.
